Dr. Odell is a Pasadena native, born at the Huntington Hospital where he is currently on staff. He received his medical education at the University of California, San Francisco and his Internal Medicine training at LAC-USC Medical Center. He did his Gastroenterology Fellowship at LAC-USC Medical Center. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine.
 
Dr. Odell has expertise in most aspects of diseases affecting adults. His special interests are diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol disorders, and medical management for gastrointestinal disorders. His experience in psychiatric medicine has derived from many years of working with affective disorders, such as anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorders. He also has expertise in geriatric problems. His practice emphasizes preventive care and health maintenance. His goals are to have a holistic, caring relationship with each of his patients.
 
The training Dr. Odell received developed his strong sense of confidence in that he has seen just about "everything" at one of the largest county hospitals in the United States. His training and his years of experience gives him a great appreciation for the expertise of his colleagues and specialists. Dr. Odell keeps current on the latest medical trends and innovations. He refuses to compromise his basic principals of patient care regardless of the economic pressures to practice otherwise.

Nurse practitioners play a vital role in the experience and case management of each patient. In California, NP's are required to have a collaborative agreement with a physician in order to perform in the duties of a primary care provider. At the Huntington Memorial Hospital, NP's are granted hospital staff privileges under the supervision of their collaborative physician. 

Our nurse practitioners are registered nurses that have achieved a master's degree and license by California. Annie Odell have clinical experience, advanced knowledge, and additional specialized training in internal medicine and women's health. This makes them a vital component in  ensuring that you receive the best possible care. 

Annie emphasizes wellness and self-care by providing information you need to make healthy lifestyle choices and health care decisions.She supports your use of complementary and alternative therapies.

Annie P. Odell, PhD, FNP-BC
 
Annie is a board certified family nurse practitioner. She earned her masters degree in nursing and training at USC in 1998 and her PhD in Nursing at the University of San Diego in 2009. Dr. Odell is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at  California State University Long Beach where she is the director of the Family and Adult Nurse Practitioner program.
 
She has a holistic approach to health care and she specializes in primary care, geriatrics and women's health. She ensures that each patient has an adequate amount of time at each visit. Her patients canreach her by email or her cell phone and she will make special appointment arrangements if necessary.
